Drees & Sommer (global consulting firm) has announced the appointment of Christoph Schmidt as the new Managing Director of its Hungarian operations, signalling a strong push into the country’s growing automotive and industrial sectors. The move comes as part of a broader strategy to bolster the company’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe.
Schmidt takes over from Philipp Gansch, who has joined the Drees & Sommer Group partnership and now oversees corporate and business development across multiple European countries, including Hungary. Schmidt will lead alongside Akos Koloszar, who currently heads the company’s market activities in Hungary.
With over eight years at Drees & Sommer, most recently as Lead of Automotive for Austria and the CEE region, Schmidt brings deep sector expertise and a proven track record in delivering large-scale production, mobility, and retail projects across Hungary, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic. His experience includes supporting projects from car dealerships to complex manufacturing plants, often exceeding 10,000 m² in scope and involving multi-€m investments.
