It was only a draw in the history of the confrontation, but Arouca, who had been behind twice on the scoreboard, managed to draw 2-2 at Estádio da Luz, adding a historic point for the Arouca team in the Portuguese League!

Dylan Nandin received the pass up front and found Weverson, who hit the ball hard into the right corner, tying the match for Arouca away from home, with the score at 2-2! And in the end, Benfica made a substitution: Aursnes replaced Arthur Cabral!

Schjelderup received the pass up front and hit the ball hard into the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed for an offside call. Soon after, both teams made substitutions. Benfica made two substitutions, with Di María and Florentino replaced by Schjelderup and Belotti. Nico Mantl was shown a yellow card for taking too long to take the goal kick. Belotti received the pass and shot hard, but it was blocked.

Otamendi brought down Jason in the area, committing the foul. The VAR reviewed the decision and awarded a penalty to Arouca, in addition to a yellow card for Carreras, for complaining. Guven Yalcin struck a low shot into the left corner to tie the match!

Akturkoglu received the pass up front and struck hard, but Mantl palmed the ball away! And then Di María received the pass and struck hard, sending the ball to the right of the goal, out, missing the chance to extend the lead!

Kokçu received the pass from Aursnes, took the ball and shot hard from distance, sending the ball into the top right corner, with no chance for Mantl to defend, with a beautiful goal for Benfica to open the scoring at Estádio da Luz!

Alfonso Trezza received a pass from Fukui and shot hard from distance, but Trubin palmed it away yet another save! Soon after, Pavlidis, at the edge of the area, shot hard, but was blocked by the defense, in yet another moment of finishing in the game.

Akturkoglu received the pass and shot hard, but was blocked by the defense. Yalcin then received the pass in the area and shot hard, but Trubin saved it away. The second half started more intense than the first!

Pavlidis received the pass and struck hard, but sent the ball wide. Benfica kept possession of the ball as the ball came out and Fontán brought down Pavlidis at the edge of the area, giving him a dangerous chance. Kokçu took the free kick straight at goal and sent it over the crossbar.

Kokçu received the pass up front and shot hard, but was blocked by the defense. Carreras then shot hard from distance and sent the ball wide. Benfica continued to press and, with Pavlidis and Aurnses, managed two shots, both blocked by the defense.

Sylla, a pass from Alex, received the ball and hit it hard, into the right corner, but Trubin palmed it away for a corner, preventing Arouca from scoring. From Jason's corner kick, Trezza went high and headed it from the right, wide, almost opening the scoring!

Pavlidis, from the cross into the area, headed hard and was blocked by the defense. Benfica continued to press and began to increase the pace of the match, managing to press high up and create danger, but still unable to score!

Akturkoglu hits the ball hard from the edge of the box and forces Nico Mantl to palm the ball away, which goes out for a corner. Akturkoglu takes the corner into the box and António Silva rises to head the ball hard and sends it to the left of the goal!

The game starts off slower between the two teams, with Benfica trying to maintain possession, exchanging passes, while Arouca closes in on the defensive field. Benfica even wins two corners, which are taken into the box for the defense to clear.

"Look, with total focus, and I think tomorrow [Sunday] is a good example of this: all of us, players and fans, must be focused to achieve our goals. So, as far as the team and the players are concerned, we need to bring the necessary confidence from our performances, but also, at the same time, the respect we had today watching Arouca, and that this brings us the humility to face tomorrow's game. Confidence, but also respect, because we're going to face a team that plays good football, a team that in the recent past had two good performances, against Braga and Sporting, with scores of 2-2 and 2-1. So, we have to have these factors on our part. On the other side, Arouca will be without Chico Lamba, who is injured, as well as Tiago Araújo, who is on loan from Benfica, which means Arouca will be playing with: Mantl, Pinto, Popovic, Fontan and Weverson; Loum, Fukui, Trezza, Jason and Sylla; Yalcin.

Benfica will be without Bah and Manu Silva today, who are long-term injured, and will be fielding the following players: Trubin, Carreras, Antonio Silva, Otamendi and Araujo; Kokçu, Florentino Luis, Akturkoglu, Aursnes and Di Marías; Pavlidis.

Benfica is in second place with 68 goals, just one behind Sporting and nine above Porto. Arouca is in 13th place with 29 points, tied with Rio Ave, three above Gil Vicente and Estrela Amadora, and three behind Nacional.

Arouca, in turn, has one draw and two losses in its last games. On March 16, 1-1, the draw was with Estoril at home, with Sylla opening the scoring and Alejandro Marques equalizing. On Saturday (29), 2-1, the defeat came away from home to Braga, with goals from Ricardo Horta and Racic, while Trezza scored. And on Saturday (5), at home, the defeat came to Famalicão, 2-1, with goals from Óscar Aranda and Topic, while Henrique Araújo scored.

Benfica comes into today's game with three wins in their last games. On Wednesday (2), by 3-2, the victory was over Farense at home, with goals from Akturkoglu (2) and Pavlidis, while Tomás Ribeiro and Rony Lopes scored. On Sunday (6), by 4-1, the victory came over Porto, away from home, with goals from Pavlidis (3) and Otamendi, while Samu scored. And on Wednesday (9), by 2-1 in the semi-final of the Portuguese Cup, the victory came over Tirsense, by 5-0, with goals from João Pedro (own goal), João Rego, Prestianni, Arthur Cabral and Schjelderup.
