The police responded to multiple incidents Friday into Saturday, including shoplifting, a street robbery, and two residential burglaries.

Luxembourg police dealt with a series of thefts and burglaries on Friday and into early Saturday.

At around 6.30pm, officers were called to a supermarket in Kirchberg following reports of two suspected shoplifters. The pair allegedly attempted to leave with a shopping trolley containing goods worth over €1,500 without paying. Security personnel intercepted and detained them until police arrived. Both individuals were taken to the police station, and an incident report was filed.

In a separate incident, a victim reported being robbed of a necklace by two individuals in Luxembourg City at around 2am on Saturday. Thanks to a detailed description provided by the victim, police located the suspects shortly afterward. A search revealed the stolen necklace in their possession. Both were arrested, and a formal complaint was lodged.

Two burglaries under investigation

The first burglary occurred in Redange/Attert late Friday afternoon, where intruders smashed a window to enter a home and ransacked multiple rooms.

Later that evening, a second break-in took place in Reckange-sur-Mess, with burglars forcing open a door and looting several areas of the residence.

Forensic teams examined both scenes, and investigations remain ongoing.
