The Table Rock Complex Fire, which combines the Table Rock State Park fire and the Persimmon Ridge fire, has reached more than 10,000 acres as of Friday morning. Let's put that into perspective: 10,000 acres is 15.6 square milesA football field (including the end zones) is about 1.32 acres. This means there would be approximately 7,580 football fields in 10,000 acres. Clemson's main campus is 1,400 acres, so 10,000 acres is a little more than 7 Clemson campuses. New York's Central Park is about 843 acres, which means the fire is about 12 Central Parks. Manhattan Island is about 14,600 acres, so the fire has burned almost the equivalent of the island.
