DARLINGTON, S.C. (WMBF) - The honorary pace car driver for next month’s Goodyear 400 is very familiar with the Track Too Tough to Tame.

Darlington Raceway announced Thursday that former NASCAR Cup Series driver Greg Biffle will drive the pace car for the race on April 6.

Biffle, a two-time Cup Series winner at Darlington, said in a statement that he was excited to have the honor.

“I’m thrilled to be the Honorary Pace Car driver for such a celebrated day in our sport, while being in the company of current and former competitors alike,” said Biffle. “To have a distinguished role in Sunday’s race and be part of Darlington’s 75th Anniversary celebration this year is a true honor.”

Biffle was also recently recognized with the 2024 National Motorsports Press Association’s Myers Brothers Award for his efforts in helping communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.

“Greg is one of the fiercest drivers in NASCAR history and, as shown by his tremendous generosity in giving back to the communities in the Carolinas last year, a winner off the track,” said Darlington Raceway President Josh Harris. “We’re glad to have an admired and respected former competitor like Greg lead the Cup Series drivers to green in the Goodyear 400.”
