After the chaos of the NHL Trade Deadline, two division rivals square off on Saturday afternoon, as the Tampa Bay Lightning prepare to host the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins are a much different-looking team than they were 24 hours ago. The most notable move general manager Don Sweeney made before the deadline was trading captain Brad Marchand to the rival Florida Panthers. Also, longtime defenseman Brandon Carlo was dealt to the Toronto Maple Leafs, signaling Boston is realizing this isn’t there year.

On the other side, the Lightning are surprising many by how good they have been this season. One of the low-key buyers at the deadline, Tampa is looking to make a significant push in the postseason for the first time since making to the Stanley Cup Final in 2022.

The Lightning sit third in the Atlantic Division, five points back of the Panthers for first place. The Bruins are seventh in the division, three points back of the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
