New Pacific record set!
The Pacific hurricane season runs from May 15th through November 30th. Mother Nature, however, has decided to kick things off a little early.
Tropical storm Andres has set a new record for the earliest named tropical storm in the Pacific Ocean. The old record was set on May 10th, 2017 with tropical storm Adrian, but with Andres being named on the 9th, that record has been replaced.
This storm, currently located to the west of Mexico, isn’t expected to make landfall, and it will likely weaken within the next day, but it begs the question as to whether this hurricane season will be intense.
