TULSA – One of the top defensive players won't be leaving Oklahoma to play college football.

Tulsa Holland Hall senior defensive lineman Owen Ostroski announced Tuesday he was verbally committing to Tulsa. This comes on the heels of him decommitting from Army following the departure of Black Knights defensive line coach Tank Wright, who left to take a position as Illinois' strength and conditioning coach.

Ostroski is the son of former Tulsa All-American Jerry Ostroski, who played eight seasons in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills.

As a senior, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Ostroski dominated while helping Holland Hall to a 12-0 record and a Class 3A state championship. He recorded 94 tackles, including 41 for loss, along with 15 sacks and three blocked punts.

Ostroski is Tulsa's first commit from Oklahoma in its 2021 class. The Golden Hurricane didn't offer him until October, a month after Ostroski verbally committed to Army.

Now, one of Oklahoma's top defensive players in the 2021 class is staying home.
