While this year's Eurovision Song Contest won't happen in the way it was supposed to, the show will go on as all of the acts due to take part look to entertain and impress millions of people across the world.

It was announced in march that Eurovision 2020 had been scrapped as a result of the global coroanavirus pandemic.

A statement from the organisers read: "We are very proud that the Eurovision Song Contest has united audiences every year, without interruption, for the past 64 years and we, like the millions of you around the world, are extremely saddened that it can not take place in May."

There is good news for Eurovision fans everywhere though as the BBC will have a Eurovision night, which will include Europe Shine A Light - a chance to see all the acts set to compete this year and hear their songs.

Among them are the 'big 5' United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany and Italy and the Netherlands who were due to host this year.

In total there were 41 countries set to compete in the contest this year with two semi-finals before the final which was due to take place tonight, Saturday, March 16.
