CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 7 (PIA) – The Philipine Red Cross (PRC) has distributed livelihood assistance to 927 households who were affected by the onslaught of typhoon 'Ompong' in Sta. Maria and Delfin Albano towns.

On September 15, 2018, Typhoon 'Ompong' with international name “Mangkhut” has affected 2.5 million people in Regions l and ll.

The distribution of household livelihood assistance was led by PRC Development Disaster Management Services chief Leonardo Ebajo who represented PRC Chairman Richard Gordon, the local chief executives of Sta. Maria and Delfin Albano towns and the board of directors of PRC Isabela chapter.

The 927 households each received an initial P6,500 in August from PRC while another P4,500 livelihood household assistance was given to each family after the PRC has completed its monitoring and validation. A total of P11,000 each assistance was given to each of the 927 families.

Ebajo said that the PRC through to its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon lives to its motto that “when the world no longer watches, we do what must be done".

"We don't take people for granted. We continue to alleviate human suffering and uplift human dignity by providing them livelihood assistance so they can get back on their feet again,” Ebajo added.
