Dale Dee Stratton, 66, passed unexpectedly in his sleep on April 14, 2024. Dale was born in Cedar City, Utah, to Carl and Larett Stratton, the youngest of seven children.
He lived his younger years in LaVerkin, Utah. During his younger years, he got to spend some summers with his sisters and their families, as they had children close to his age After graduating high school, he married Christine Phipps on June 5, 1975.
Dale started working for his brother-in-law Bill in the printing field and worked several jobs until he settled with working for Vic Condie as a hod tender, building many buildings he loved to tell his children and grandchildren about. After several years of hod tending he went to work for Moore Business Forms where he worked as a press operator for 19 years. When they closed the St George location, he got his dream job working for Trees Ranch in Springdale, developing and maintaining the watering system. In June 2011 he started working for Budd Lee & Sons until his retirement date April 1, 2024.
He was “neater and sweeter than anything in Cedar.” Dale greatly enjoyed his family time, especially the grandkids, and fishing, hunting, camping, taking care of cows and rabbits and tinkering around the house and yard. He was very smart, his kids would call him and ask him random questions because he always had the answer no matter what the question was.
He’s survived by his wife Christine; sons Carl, Tooele, Utah, and Justin (Audra), LaVerkin, Utah; daughters Laura, LaVerkin, and Nicole (Mikey) Gubler, Tooele, and daughter-in-law Dana Stratton, Tooele; grandchildren Anthony, Alyssa, KyLee, HayLee, Terrance, Calvin, ShyAnn, Jazmyn and Little Mikey, great-grandson David Jones and sisters Helen DeMille and Carlyn Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Dorothy and sisters Rae Ann Hardy and Doris Oborn.
A graveside service will be held on May 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
